About

Colgrain Primary   and Nursery pupils are provided with  experiences in  Outdoor Learning as part of their regular timetable.  It is an essential part of uniform to have a pair of wellingtons and  some rainproof outdoor clothing. Children from the age of three plant their own vegetables . We later sell our produce and our cook Mrs Gannon also uses our fresh vegetables in our kitchen. It is literally planting to plate

The gardens have planters for every class stage in our school. Each year there is a wealth of Volunteer helpers who very kindly give of their time to maintain this area. We are very proud of our Eco greenhouse which was made out of plastic bottles and canes. James Knott's grandfather built our frame.

As the headteacher I would like to thank all of our children, teachers, volunteers, our Parent Council and Mrs Seonag Bates, SEN Assistant  for her infectious enthusiasm and excellent effort  in developing our gardens.
